North DeSoto Griffins (Stonewall, LA) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Haynesville Golden Tornado (Haynesville, LA), 47-43 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, North DeSoto upgrades its record to 2-4 on the campaign. The Griffins host Logansport (Logansport, LA) to play the Tigers in a non-league bout on Thursday, January 12. The Tigers come into the bout with a record of 2-3.

Next up, the Golden Tornado play the Arcadia Hornets (Arcadia, LA) in a 1A District 1 bout, on Friday, January 13. Haynesville will attempt to upgrade on its 6-4 season record. The Hornets come into the bout with a 5-6 record after their 66-57 league loss to Ringgold (Ringgold, LA).
