The Port Isabel Tarpons (Port Isabel, TX) basketball felled the host Hidalgo Pirates (Hidalgo, TX), 36-27 in Tuesday's league test.
The Tarpons (17-3) will now prepare for their test against La Feria (La Feria, TX). The Lions go into the 4A Region IV District 32 test with a 12-5 record. In their last test, La Feria thwarted Harmony School of Innovation (Brownsville, TX), 57-12, in a league test.
The Pirates now own a 8-10 record. They play next when they travel to Zapata for a 4A Region IV District 32 test on Friday, January 13. Hidalgo will encounter a Hawks team coming off a 44-42 league win over Grulla (Rio Grande City, TX). The Hawks record now stands at 5-10.
