Independence Patriots (Glendale, AZ) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Kofa Kings (Yuma, AZ), 54-52 in a league bout.

With the win, Independence upgrades its record to 3-12 on the season. The Patriots travel to Youngker (Buckeye, AZ) to play the Roughriders in a 5A Central Valley bout on Friday, January 13. The Roughriders go into the bout with a record of 4-9. Youngker lost 84-34 in their recent league bout against Buckeye (Buckeye, AZ)

Next up, the Kings play the Glendale Cardinals (Glendale, AZ) in a 5A Central Valley bout, on Thursday, January 12. Kofa will attempt to upgrade on its 6-6 season record. The Cardinals go into the bout with a 4-6 record after their 70-56 league loss to Washington (Phoenix, AZ).
