The St. Mary's Gaels basketball team (Manhasset, NY), was nudged 76-74 in Tuesday's league battle with the visiting Kellenberg Memorial Firebirds (Uniondale, NY)

The Firebirds now sport a 1-4 record. They put it on the line next when they host St. John the Baptist for a Catholic Nassau Suffolk battle on Monday, January 16. Kellenberg Memorial will battle a Cougars team coming off a 73-64 league loss to Chaminade (Mineola, NY). The Cougars record now stands at 7-2.

The Gaels (1-2) will now prepare for their battle against Holy Trinity (Hicksville, NY). The Titans come into the Catholic Nassau Suffolk battle with a 7-3 record. In their last battle, Holy Trinity edged St. Anthony's (Melville, NY), 58-49, in a league battle.
