The Metamora Redbirds basketball team scored 51 points and restricted the visiting Washington Panthers to 27 in the Redbirds league victory on Tuesday.

The Redbirds now sport a 14-2 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Dunlap for a Mid-Illini contest on Friday, January 13. Metamora will battle a Eagles team coming off a 54-43 non-league win over LaSalle-Peru (LaSalle, IL). The Eagles record now stands at 7-9.

The Panthers (10-8) will now prepare for their contest against Morton (Morton, IL). The Potters come into the Mid-Illini contest with a 14-5 record. In their last contest, Morton triumphed over Prairie Central (Fairbury, IL), 46-38, in a non-league contest.
