The Nutley Maroon Raiders basketball team scored 69 points and held the host Newark Academy Minutemen to 59 in the Maroon Raiders non-league triumph on Tuesday.

The Maroon Raiders now sport a 2-8 record. They put it on the line next when they host West Orange for a non-league contest on Thursday, January 12. Nutley will battle a Mountaineers team coming off a 36-33 non-league win over Verona (Verona, NJ). The Mountaineers record now stands at 7-1.

The Minutemen (1-6) will now prepare for their contest against Livingston (Livingston, NJ). The Lancers enter the Super Essex - Independence contest with a 5-5 record. In their last contest, Livingston was defeated by Newark Collegiate Academy (Newark, NJ), 44-39, in a non-league contest.
