Pinkston Vikings (Dallas, TX) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the visiting Sulphur Springs Wildcats (Sulphur Springs, TX), 80-71 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Pinkston upgrades its record to 13-9 on the campaign. The Vikings travel to Carter (Dallas, TX) to play the Cowboys in a 4A Region II District 13 bout on Friday, January 13. The Cowboys come into the bout with a record of 18-2. Carter won 62-30 in their recent non-league bout against La Vega (Waco, TX)

Next up, the Wildcats play the Paris Wildcats (Paris, TX) in a 4A Region II District 15 bout, on Friday, January 13. Sulphur Springs will attempt to upgrade on its 18-7 season record. The Wildcats come into the bout with a 10-6 record after their 61-57 non-league loss to Van Alstyne (Van Alstyne, TX).
