With the victory, Watauga improves its record to 12-4 on the campaign. The Pioneers host Hibriten (Lenoir, NC) to confront the Panthers in a 3A/4A Conference 52 challenge on Thursday, January 12. The Panthers come into the challenge with a record of 15-1. Hibriten won 66-65 in their recent league challenge against Ashe County (West Jefferson, NC)

Next up, the Cougars confront the South Caldwell Spartans (Hudson, NC) in a 3A/4A Conference 52 challenge, on Thursday, January 12. Alexander Central will attempt to improve on its 12-2 season record. The Spartans come into the challenge with a 9-7 record after their 50-36 league loss to Freedom (Morganton, NC).
