In Tuesday's league outing, the Loyd Star Hornets (Brookhaven, MS) basketball squad beat the host Amite County Trojans (Liberty, MS), by a margin of 44-36.

The Hornets (5-12) will now prepare for their outing against East Marion (Columbia, MS). The Eagles go into the 2A Region 7 outing with a 1-11 record. In their last outing, East Marion was topped by West Lincoln (Brookhaven, MS), 63-13, in a league outing.

The Trojans now own a 1-6 record. They play next when they host East Marion for a 2A Region 7 outing on Tuesday, January 24.
