North Carolina High School Basketball - Monroe nudges Anson

January 10, 2023: Wadesboro, NC 28170

Monroe Redhawks (Monroe, NC) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Anson Bearcats (Wadesboro, NC), 51-45 in a league bout.

With the win, Monroe upgrades its record to 6-6 on the season. The Redhawks travel to Central (Pageland, SC) to clash with the Eagles in a non-league bout on Wednesday, January 11. The Eagles go into the bout with a record of 2-7. Central lost 45-30 in their recent league bout against Buford (Lancaster, SC)

Next up, the Bearcats clash with the Parkwood Wolf Pack (Monroe, NC) in a 2A/3A Conference 44 bout, on Friday, January 13. Anson will attempt to upgrade on its 2-10 season record. The Wolf Pack go into the bout with a 13-4 record after their 61-21 league win over West Stanly (Oakboro, NC).
