North Carolina High School Basketball - Hibriten holds off Ashe County

Fans at Tuesday's league challenge between the Hibriten Panthers (Lenoir, NC) and the host Ashe County Huskies (West Jefferson, NC), saw Hibriten's basketball squad hold off Ashe County by a tally of 66-65.
With the victory, Hibriten improves its record to 15-1 on the campaign. The Panthers travel to Watauga (Boone, NC) to confront the Pioneers in a 3A/4A Conference 52 challenge on Thursday, January 12. The Pioneers come into the challenge with a record of 12-4. Watauga won 38-25 in their recent league challenge against Alexander Central (Taylorsville, NC)
Next up, the Huskies confront the Freedom Patriots (Morganton, NC) in a 3A/4A Conference 52 challenge, on Thursday, January 12. Ashe County will attempt to improve on its 10-4 season record. The Patriots come into the challenge with a 10-5 record after their 50-36 league win over South Caldwell (Hudson, NC).
