Ashland Blue Jays (Ashland, KS) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host South Central Timberwolves (Coldwater, KS), 43-35 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Ashland upgrades its record to 4-4 on the season. The Blue Jays host Minneola (Minneola, KS) to play the Wildcats in a Southern Plains-Iroquois bout on Friday, January 13. The Wildcats go into the bout with a record of 3-4. Minneola lost 62-46 in their recent non-league bout against South Gray (Montezuma, KS)

Next up, the Timberwolves play the Spearville Lancers (Spearville, KS) in a non-league bout, on Friday, January 13. South Central will attempt to upgrade on its 4-3 season record. The Lancers go into the bout with a 5-4 record after their 45-43 non-league win over Ness City (Ness City, KS).
