Lone Tree Lions (Lone Tree, IA) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Columbus Sailors (Waterloo, IA), 52-33 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Lone Tree upgrades its record to 8-6 on the season. The Lions travel to Highland (Riverside, IA) to clash with the Huskies in a SEI - North bout on Friday, January 13. The Huskies go into the bout with a record of 4-7. Highland won 43-41 in their recent league bout against Pekin (Packwood, IA)

Next up, the Sailors clash with the Gladbrook-Reinbeck Rebels (Reinbeck, IA) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, January 10. Columbus will attempt to upgrade on its 5-8 season record. The Rebels go into the bout with a 4-5 record after their 49-48 non-league win over Sumner-Fredericksburg (Sumner, IA).
