The Cougars now possess a 20-4 record. They put it on the line next when they host Winston Academy for a MAIS 5A District 2 battle on Friday, January 13. Simpson Academy will confront a Patriots team coming off a 58-25 non-league loss to Lamar (Meridian, MS). The Patriots record now stands at 1-4.

The Patriots (15-11) will now prepare for their battle against Park Place Christian Academy (Pearl, MS). The Crusaders come into the MAIS 5A District 2 battle with a 0-5 record. In their last battle, Park Place Christian Academy was toppled by Leake Academy (Madden, MS), 61-27, in a league battle.
