Texas High School Basketball - Emerson knocked off by Independence

The Independence Knights basketball team scored 44 points and held the host Emerson Mavericks to 26 in the Knights league triumph on Tuesday.
The Knights now sport a 7-9 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Liberty for a 5A Region II District 10 contest on Friday, January 13. Independence will battle a Redhawks team coming off a 48-27 league win over Heritage (Frisco, TX). The Redhawks record now stands at 13-8.
The Mavericks (7-19) will now prepare for their contest against Memorial (Frisco, TX). The Warriors enter the 5A Region II District 10 contest with a 18-9 record. In their last contest, Memorial ran past Centennial (Frisco, TX), 48-41, in a league contest.
