The English Valleys Bears basketball team scored 54 points and held the host H-L-V Warriors to 49 in the Bears league triumph on Tuesday.

The Bears now sport a 8-4 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Lynnville-Sully for a South Iowa Cedar contest on Friday, January 13. English Valleys will meet a Hawks team coming off a 41-25 league win over Tri-County (Thornburg, IA). The Hawks record now stands at 9-4.

The Warriors (3-7) will now prepare for their contest against Belle Plaine (Belle Plaine, IA). The Plainsmen enter the South Iowa Cedar contest with a 2-11 record. In their last contest, Belle Plaine was nudged by Don Bosco (Gilbertville, IA), 39-31, in a non-league contest.
