Hidalgo Pirates (Hidalgo, TX) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Port Isabel Tarpons (Port Isabel, TX), 42-38 in a league bout.

With the win, Hidalgo upgrades its record to 3-7 on the season. The Pirates travel to Zapata (Zapata, TX) to clash with the Hawks in a 4A Region IV District 32 bout on Friday, January 13. The Hawks go into the bout with a record of 3-9. Zapata lost 46-44 in their recent league bout against Grulla (Rio Grande City, TX)

Next up, the Tarpons clash with the La Feria Lions (La Feria, TX) in a 4A Region IV District 32 bout, on Friday, January 13. Port Isabel will attempt to upgrade on its 8-11 season record.
