The Houston Hilltoppers basketball team (Houston, MS), dropped 51-42 in Tuesday's league battle with the visiting South Pontotoc Cougars (Pontotoc, MS)
The Cougars now possess a 14-6 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Baldwyn for a non-league battle on Thursday, January 12. South Pontotoc will confront a Bearcats team coming off a 45-25 league win over Pine Grove (Ripley, MS). The Bearcats record now stands at 4-3.
The Hilltoppers (4-6) will now prepare for their battle against New Albany (New Albany, MS). The Bulldogs come into the 4A Region 2 battle with a 8-11 record. In their last battle, New Albany dropped by West Union (Myrtle, MS), 48-42, in a non-league battle.
