The Marcus-Meriden-Cleghorn/Remsen-Union Royals (Marcus, IA) basketball nipped the host Trinity Christian Tigers (Hull, IA), 39-33 in Tuesday's league test.

The Royals (5-2) will now prepare for their test against George-Little Rock (George, IA). The Mustangs go into the non-league test with a 1-7 record. In their last test, George-Little Rock was tipped by Sioux Center (Sioux Center, IA), 57-25, in a league test.

The Tigers now own a 4-5 record. They play next when they travel to Akron-Westfield for a non-league test on Friday, January 13. Trinity Christian will encounter a Westerners squad coming off a 44-40 non-league loss to Alcester-Hudson (Alcester, SD). The Westerners record now stands at 2-7.
