North Carolina High School Basketball - North Stanly crushes Mount Pleasant

North Stanly Comets (New London, NC) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad bounce the host Mount Pleasant Tigers (Mt. Pleasant, NC), 49-24 in a league bout.

With the victory, North Stanly upgrades its record to 14-1 on the campaign. The Comets host Forest Hills (Marshville, NC) to play the Yellow Jackets in a non-league bout on Saturday, January 14. The Yellow Jackets come into the bout with a record of 5-11. Forest Hills lost 53-48 in their recent league bout against Monroe (Monroe, NC)

Next up, the Tigers play the Union Academy Cardinals (Monroe, NC) in a 1A/2A Conference 35 bout, on Friday, January 13. Mount Pleasant will attempt to upgrade on its 5-11 season record. The Cardinals come into the bout with a 7-5 record after their 41-19 league win over Gray Stone Day (Misenheimer, NC).
