The Pope John XXIII (Sparta, NJ) basketball crushed the visiting Sparta Spartans (Sparta, NJ), 70-45 in Tuesday's league test.
The (12-1) will now prepare for their test against Montville (Montville, NJ). The Mustangs go into the Northwest Jersey - National test with a 7-2 record. In their last test, Montville walloped Bayonne (Bayonne, NJ), 67-60, in a non-league test.
The Spartans now own a 6-2 record. They play next when they travel to Morris Hills for a Northwest Jersey - National test on Thursday, January 12. Sparta will encounter a Knights squad coming off a 55-23 non-league loss to Morristown (Morristown, NJ). The Knights record now stands at 3-6.
