Stillman Valley Cardinals (Stillman Valley, IL) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the visiting Rockford Christian Royal Lions (Rockford, IL), 49-36 in a league bout.

With the victory, Stillman Valley upgrades its record to 18-3 on the campaign. The Cardinals travel to Winnebago (Winnebago, IL) to play the Indians in a Big Northern bout on Friday, January 13. The Indians come into the bout with a record of 12-8. Winnebago lost 45-33 in their recent league bout against Dixon (Dixon, IL)

Next up, the Royal Lions play the Genoa-Kingston Cogs (Genoa, IL) in a Big Northern bout, on Friday, January 13. Rockford Christian will attempt to upgrade on its 11-10 season record. The Cogs come into the bout with a 10-9 record after their 53-41 non-league loss to Polo (Polo, IL).
