In Tuesday's league outing, the Sands Mustangs (Ackerly, TX) basketball squad overwhelmed the host Wellman-Union Wildcats (Wellman, TX), by a margin of 79-28.
The Mustangs (18-5) will now prepare for their outing against Klondike (Lamesa, TX). The Cougars go into the 1A Region I District 8 outing with a 13-2 record. In their last outing, Klondike smashed Grady (Lenorah, TX), 49-35, in a league outing.
The Wildcats now own a 0-6 record. They play next when they travel to Dawson for a 1A Region I District 8 outing on Friday, January 13. Wellman-Union will clash with a Dragons squad coming off a 37-22 league loss to Loop (Loop, TX). The Dragons record now stands at 3-3.
