The Maroon Tide (8-4) will now prepare for their test against Auburn (Riner, VA). The Eagles go into the non-league test with a 3-9 record. In their last test, Auburn notched a victory over Covington (Covington, VA), 33-25, in a non-league test.

The Spartans now own a 1-4 record. They play next when they host Bland County for a non-league test on Friday, January 13. Giles will encounter a Bears squad coming off a 40-28 non-league win over Eastern Montgomery (Elliston, VA). The Bears record now stands at 11-1.
