R-S Central Hilltoppers (Rutherfordton, NC) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host East Rutherford Cavaliers (Forest City, NC), 67-50 in a non-league bout.

With the win, R-S Central upgrades its record to 2-11 on the season. The Hilltoppers host Chase (Forest City, NC) to clash with the Trojans in a non-league bout on Tuesday, January 17. The Trojans go into the bout with a record of 5-7. Chase won 46-43 in their recent non-league bout against Patton (Morganton, NC)

Next up, the Cavaliers clash with the Polk County Wolverines (Columbus, NC) in a non-league bout, on Friday, January 13. East Rutherford will attempt to upgrade on its 3-7 season record. The Wolverines go into the bout with a 3-6 record after their 42-39 non-league loss to Owen (Black Mountain, NC).
