Franklinton Rams (Franklinton, NC) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Southern Nash Firebirds (Bailey, NC), 48-44 in a league bout.

With the victory, Franklinton upgrades its record to 8-5 on the campaign. The Rams host Rocky Mount (Rocky Mount, NC) to play the Gryphons in a bout on Friday, January 13. The Gryphons come into the bout with a record of 7-3. Rocky Mount won 42-36 in their recent non-league bout against Southern Nash (Bailey, NC)

Next up, the Firebirds play the Northern Nash Knights (Rocky Mount, NC) in a non-league bout, on Friday, January 13. Southern Nash will attempt to upgrade on its 9-3 season record. The Knights come into the bout with a 9-2 record after their 61-46 non-league win over North Edgecombe (Tarboro, NC).
