Imperial Tigers (Imperial, CA) backers were in high spirits Wednesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Calipatria Hornets (Calipatria, CA), 58-48 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Imperial upgrades its record to 5-13 on the season. The Tigers host Calexico (Calexico, CA) to play the Bulldogs in a Imperial Valley bout on Friday, January 12. The Bulldogs go into the bout with a record of 10-7. Calexico won 58-38 in their recent league bout against Palo Verde Valley (Blythe, CA)

Next up, the Hornets play the Brawley Wildcats (Brawley, CA) in a Desert bout, on Friday, January 12. Calipatria will attempt to upgrade on its 11-3 season record. The Wildcats go into the bout with a 10-9 record after their 54-27 league win over Holtville (Holtville, CA).
