North Carolina High School Basketball - Newton-Conover thwarts East Burke

January 10, 2024: Connelly Springs, NC 28612

The Newton-Conover Red Devils (Newton, NC) basketball knocked off the host East Burke Cavaliers (Connelly Springs, NC), 67-56 in Wednesday's league test.

The Red Devils (8-5) will now prepare for their test against West Lincoln (Lincolnton, NC). The Rebels go into the 2A Catawba Valley test with a 3-10 record. In their last test, West Lincoln notched a victory over Bunker Hill (Claremont, NC), 59-47, in a league test.

The Cavaliers now own a 3-9 record. They play next when they travel to Bunker Hill for a 2A Catawba Valley test on Friday, January 12. East Burke will encounter a Bears squad coming off a 59-47 league loss to West Lincoln (Lincolnton, NC). The Bears record now stands at 2-10.
