The Magna Vista Warriors (Ridgeway, VA) basketball nipped the host George Washington Eagles (Danville, VA), 54-52 in Wednesday's league test.
The Warriors (4-8) will now prepare for their test against Martinsville (Martinsville, VA). The Bulldogs go into the Piedmont test with a 8-5 record. In their last test, Martinsville got by Halifax County (South Boston, VA), 59-49, in a league test.
The Eagles now own a 5-8 record. They play next when they travel to Tunstall for a Piedmont test on Friday, January 12. George Washington will encounter a Trojans squad coming off a 64-54 non-league win over Dan River (Ringgold, VA). The Trojans record now stands at 14-0.
