PikeView Panthers (Princeton, WV) backers were in high spirits Wednesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Independence Patriots (Coal City, WV), 77-65 in a league bout.

With the win, PikeView upgrades its record to 3-7 on the season. The Panthers travel to Nicholas County (Summersville, WV) to clash with the Grizzlies in a Coalfield AA bout on Tuesday, January 16. The Grizzlies go into the bout with a record of 5-5. Nicholas County won 59-54 in their recent league bout against Midland Trail (Hico, WV)

Next up, the Patriots clash with the Greater Beckley Christian Crusaders (Prosperity, WV) in a non-league bout, on Friday, January 12. Independence will attempt to upgrade on its 2-6 season record. The Crusaders go into the bout with a 5-1 record after their 72-54 non-league win over Liberty (Glen Daniel, WV).
