Lawndale Cardinals (Lawndale, CA) backers were pleased Wednesday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting South Spartans (Torrance, CA), 57-50 in a league bout.

With the victory, Lawndale upgrades its record to 5-14 on the campaign. The Cardinals travel to Dominguez (Compton, CA) to play the Dons in a non-league bout on Monday, January 15. The Dons come into the bout with a record of 8-11. Dominguez won 67-61 in their recent league bout against Downey (Downey, CA)

Next up, the Spartans play the Torrance Tartars (Torrance, CA) in a Pioneer bout, on Friday, January 12. South will attempt to upgrade on its 13-8 season record. The Tartars come into the bout with a 6-14 record after their 77-56 non-league loss to San Pedro (San Pedro, CA).
