The Middletown South Eagles (Middletown, NJ) basketball nipped the visiting Middletown North Lions (Middletown, NJ), 65-62 in Wednesday's non-league test.
The Eagles (3-6) will now prepare for their test against Marlboro (Marlboro, NJ). The Mustangs go into the non-league test with a 4-5 record. In their last test, Marlboro was tipped by Red Bank Catholic (Red Bank, NJ), 49-40, in a non-league test.
The Lions now own a 5-6 record. They play next when they host Howell for a Shore A - North test on Thursday, January 11. Middletown North will encounter a Rebels squad coming off a 72-53 non-league win over West Windsor-Plainsboro South (Princeton Junction, NJ). The Rebels record now stands at 8-4.
