St. Mary's Ryken Knights (Leonardtown, MD) backers were in high spirits Wednesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Saint John Paul the Great Catholic Wolves (Dumfries, VA), 74-59 in a non-league bout.

With the win, St. Mary's Ryken upgrades its record to 9-7 on the season. The Knights host Bishop O'Connell (Arlington, VA) to play the Knights in a non-league bout on Friday, January 12. The Knights go into the bout with a record of 12-3. Bishop O'Connell lost 64-50 in their recent league bout against DeMatha (Hyattsville, MD)

Next up, the Wolves play the Evergreen Christian Eagles (Leesburg, VA) in a non-league bout, on Saturday, January 13. Saint John Paul the Great Catholic will attempt to upgrade on its 5-9 season record. The Eagles go into the bout with a 13-5 record after their 92-89 league loss to Grace Brethren Christian (Clinton, MD).
