Fans at Wednesday's non-league challenge between the Appomattox County Raiders (Appomattox, VA) and the visiting Heritage Pioneers (Lynchburg, VA), saw Appomattox County's basketball squad overcome Heritage by a tally of 43-23.

With the victory, Appomattox County improves its record to 3-3 on the campaign. The Raiders host William Campbell (Naruna, VA) to play the Generals in a Dogwood challenge on Friday, January 12. The Generals come into the challenge with a record of 2-5.

Next up, the Pioneers play the Glass Hilltoppers (Lynchburg, VA) in a Seminole challenge, on Friday, January 12. Heritage will attempt to improve on its 2-8 season record. The Hilltoppers come into the challenge with a 5-6 record after their 63-28 league loss to Liberty Christian (Lynchburg, VA).
