The Ben L. Smith Golden Eagles basketball team scored 58 points and restricted the visiting Southern Guilford Storm to 14 in the Golden Eagles league victory on Wednesday.

The Golden Eagles now sport a 9-1 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to High Point Central for a 3A Mid-State contest on Friday, January 12. Ben L. Smith will battle a Bison team coming off a 51-7 league loss to Rockingham County (Wentworth, NC). The Bison record now stands at 0-13.

The Storm (3-10) will now prepare for their contest against Eastern Guilford (Gibsonville, NC). The Wildcats come into the 3A Mid-State contest with a 6-8 record. In their last bout, Eastern Guilford was crushed by Atkins (Winston-Salem, NC), 53-37, in a league bout.
