The South River Rams (South River, NJ) basketball nipped the host Carteret Ramblers (Carteret, NJ), 44-42 in Wednesday's league test.

The Rams (7-2) will now prepare for their test against North Brunswick (North Brunswick, NJ). The North Brunswick Raiders go into the non-league test with a 0-9 record. In their last test, North Brunswick was tipped by Piscataway (Piscataway, NJ), 67-41, in a non-league test.

The Ramblers now own a 6-3 record. They play next when they travel to Metuchen for a Greater Middlesex - Blue test on Friday, January 12. Carteret will encounter a Bulldogs squad coming off a 56-23 league win over Wardlaw Hartridge (Edison, NJ). The Bulldogs record now stands at 7-3.
