In Wednesday's league outing, the Gray's Creek Bears (Hope Mills, NC) basketball squad edged the visiting Douglas Byrd Eagles (Fayetteville, NC), by a margin of 50-43.

The Bears (3-7) will now prepare for their outing against Lumberton (Lumberton, NC). The Pirates go into the 3A/4A United 8 outing with a 2-7 record. In their last outing, Lumberton was tipped by Jack Britt (Fayetteville, NC), 50-42, in a league outing.
