Torres Toros (Los Angeles, CA) backers were pleased Wednesday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the visiting Maywood Academy Nighthawks (Maywood, CA), 24-11 in a league bout.

With the victory, Torres upgrades its record to 5-9 on the campaign. The Toros travel to Sotomayor (Los Angeles, CA) to play the Wolves in a Southern bout on Friday, January 12. The Wolves come into the bout with a record of 4-4. Sotomayor won 32-24 in their recent league bout against Elizabeth (Cudahy, CA)

Next up, the Nighthawks play the Marquez Gladiators (Huntington Park, CA) in a Southern bout, on Friday, January 12. Maywood Academy will attempt to upgrade on its 1-4 season record. The Gladiators come into the bout with a 6-3 record after their 45-43 league loss to Maywood CES (Maywood, CA).
