River Ridge Hawks (Lacey, WA) backers were pleased Wednesday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Yelm Tornados (Yelm, WA), 43-37 in a league bout.

With the victory, River Ridge upgrades its record to 6-7 on the campaign. The Hawks host Timberline (Lacey, WA) to play the Blazers in a 3A South Sound bout on Friday, January 12. The Blazers come into the bout with a record of 12-1. Timberline lost 67-38 in their recent league bout against North Thurston (Lacey, WA)

Next up, the Tornados play the Gig Harbor Tides (Gig Harbor, WA) in a 3A South Sound bout, on Friday, January 12. Yelm will attempt to upgrade on its 1-6 season record. The Tides come into the bout with a 8-5 record after their 53-51 league win over Peninsula (Gig Harbor, WA).
