Northeastern Eagles (Elizabeth City, NC) backers were pleased Wednesday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the visiting Hertford County Bears (Ahoskie, NC), 54-45 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Northeastern upgrades its record to 6-0 on the campaign. The Eagles travel to South Central (Winterville, NC) to play the Falcons in a non-league bout on Thursday, January 11. The Falcons come into the bout with a record of 4-3. South Central won 42-37 in their recent non-league bout against North Pitt (Bethel, NC)

Next up, the Bears play the First Flight Nighthawks (Kill Devil Hills, NC) in a non-league bout, on Thursday, January 11. Hertford County will attempt to upgrade on its 2-4 season record. The Nighthawks come into the bout with a 5-3 record after their 55-38 league win over Camden County (Camden, NC).
