In Friday's league contest, the visiting Anderson-Shiro Fighting Owls basketball team scored a good 57-48 triumph over the Coldspring-Oakhurst Trojans.

The Fighting Owls (14-6) will now prepare for their contest against Trinity (Trinity, TX). The Tigers go into the 3A Region III District 23 contest with a 14-5 record. In their last contest, Trinity was topped by Onalaska (Onalaska, TX), 94-65, in a league contest.

In their next game, the Trojans battle the New Waverly Bulldogs (New Waverly, TX) in a 3A Region III District 23 contest, on Tuesday, January 14. Coldspring-Oakhurst will attempt to better on its 7-16 season record. The Bulldogs go into the contest with a 5-12 record after their 51-48 league loss to Crockett (Crockett, TX).
