In Friday's league contest, the host Ashland Oredockers basketball team scored a good 72-59 triumph over the Spooner Rails.

The Oredockers (2-9) will now prepare for their contest against Barron (Barron, WI). The Golden Bears go into the Heart O'North contest with a 5-4 record. In their last contest, Barron topped Chetek-Weyerhaeuser (Chetek, WI), 71-59, in a league contest.

In their next game, the Rails confront the Bloomer Blackhawks (Bloomer, WI) in a non-league contest, on Tuesday, January 14. Spooner will attempt to better on its 2-7 season record. The Blackhawks go into the contest with a 4-3 record after their 42-39 league loss to Fall Creek (Fall Creek, WI).
