The crowd at Friday's non-league challenge between the Sumner-Eddyville-Miller Mustangs (Sumner, NE) and the visiting Axtell Wildcats (Axtell, NE), observed Sumner-Eddyville-Miller's basketball team overcome Axtell by a margin of 52-39.
The Mustangs (6-3) will now prepare for their challenge against Kearney Catholic (Kearney, NE). The Stars come into the non-league challenge with a 5-4 record. In their last challenge, Kearney Catholic defeated North Platte (North Platte, NE), 58-35, in a non-league challenge.
In their next game, the Wildcats battle the Alma Cardinals (Alma, NE) in a non-league challenge, on Saturday, January 11. Axtell will attempt to better on its 4-8 season record. The Cardinals come into the challenge with a 10-1 record after their 62-20 non-league win over Franklin (Franklin, NE).
