The crowd at Friday's league challenge between the Lake View Chiefs (San Angelo, TX) and the host Big Spring Steers (Big Spring, TX), observed Lake View's basketball team knock off Big Spring by a score of 56-45.

The Chiefs (10-11) will now prepare for their challenge against Snyder (Snyder, TX). The Tigers come into the 4A Region I District 5 challenge with a 6-17 record. In their last challenge, Snyder dropped by Estacado (Lubbock, TX), 78-32, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Steers encounter the Levelland Lobos (Levelland, TX) in a 4A Region I District 5 challenge, on Tuesday, January 14. Big Spring will attempt to improve on its 8-13 season record. The Lobos come into the challenge with a 12-14 record after their 83-58 league loss to Liberty (Lubbock, TX).
