The Catholic Bears basketball team scored 61 points and limited the visiting East Ascension Spartans to 50 in the Bears non-league triumph on Friday.

The Bears now possess a 21-1 record. They play next when they travel to Northwest for a non-league game on Saturday, January 11.

With the loss, East Ascension falls to 9-4 on the campaign. The Spartans host University Lab (Baton Rouge, LA) to confront the Cubs in a non-league game on Tuesday, January 14. The Cubs go into the game with a record of 11-6. University Lab won 61-27 in their recent non-league game against Istrouma (Baton Rouge, LA)
