In Friday's league contest, the visiting Gatesville Hornets basketball team scored a good 58-43 win over the China Spring Cougars.

The Hornets (17-7) will now prepare for their contest against Robinson (Robinson, TX). The Rockets come into the 4A Region III District 23 contest with a 10-15 record. In their last contest, Robinson was topped by La Vega (Waco, TX), 47-43, in a league contest.

In their next game, the Cougars battle the Lorena Leopards (Lorena, TX) in a 4A Region III District 23 contest, on Tuesday, January 14. China Spring will attempt to better on its 11-12 season record. The Leopards enter the battle with a 12-13 record after their 54-53 league win over Connally (Waco, TX).
