The crowd at Friday's league challenge between the Ellsworth Panthers (Ellsworth, WI) and the visiting Somerset Spartans (Somerset, WI), observed Ellsworth's basketball team overcome Somerset by a score of 72-55.

The Panthers (8-2) will now prepare for their challenge against Menomonie (Menomonie, WI). The Mustangs come into the non-league challenge with a 4-5 record. In their last challenge, Menomonie dropped by Eau Claire North (Eau Claire, WI), 72-55, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Spartans battle the Altoona Railroaders (Altoona, WI) in a Middle Border challenge, on Friday, January 17. Somerset will attempt to improve on its 4-7 season record.
