In Friday's league contest, the host Grants Pass Cavemen basketball team scored a good 57-45 triumph over the South Eugene Axe.
The Cavemen (4-8) will now prepare for their contest against South Medford (Medford, OR). The Panthers go into the 6A Southwest contest with a 4-9 record. In their last contest, South Medford was topped by Sheldon (Eugene, OR), 57-54, in a league contest.
In their next game, the Axe confront the Willamette Wolverines (Eugene, OR) in a 6A Southwest contest, on Monday, January 13. South Eugene will attempt to better on its 8-5 season record. The Wolverines go into the contest with a 4-9 record after their 61-53 league win over Roseburg (Roseburg, OR).
