In Friday's league contest, the visiting Port Isabel Tarpons basketball team scored a big 99-35 win over the Grulla Gators.

The Tarpons (11-9) will now prepare for their contest against Hidalgo (Hidalgo, TX). The Pirates come into the 4A Region IV District 32 contest with a 17-9 record. In their last contest, Hidalgo was trounced by La Feria (La Feria, TX), 51-35, in a league contest.

In their next game, the Gators battle the Valley View Tigers (Pharr, TX) in a 4A Region IV District 32 contest, on Tuesday, January 14. Grulla will attempt to better on its 3-16 season record.
