In Friday's league contest, the host Lampasas Badgers basketball team scored a big 80-48 triumph over the Jarrell Cougars.

The Badgers (17-8) will now prepare for their contest against Salado (Salado, TX). The Eagles go into the 4A Region III District 24 contest with a 10-14 record. In their last contest, Salado was trounced by Burnet (Burnet, TX), 54-33, in a league contest.

In their next game, the Cougars confront the Gateway College Preparatory Gators (Georgetown, TX) in a 4A Region III District 24 contest, on Tuesday, January 14. Jarrell will attempt to better on its 6-14 season record. The Gators go into the contest with a 12-7 record after their 63-61 league win over Marble Falls (Marble Falls, TX).
